Timezones

Graphing is completely bust at the moment and I've been too sick to fix it. Adding timezones in has been quite complicated and mind-bending. I shall attempt to fix it tomorrow. Grrr. My savign grace is that I have no users yet :-) :-(

W8TRK live

Hurrah. The subject of this blog is now live. It is still a little buggy, but sending a txt to +64 29 TO W8TRK (or +64 29 869-8875...easier) with a weight in kilos e.g. 50 or 75.5 etc will log it, and then you can set your password (send password to the same number.


It's all going nicely. I just need to see if anyone wants to use it except me now :-) The GSM modem on the backend needs to be lifted too as it sometimes drops out of coverage for a few minutes.

Anyway, try it out and let me know if it works for you and your suggestions for improvements.

PS it should also be possible to log your weight in pounds (lbs), stones (st) and those with ounces (oz) attached. Hurrah.

Well. This is the beginning and yet I can't yet write about what is happening. If I do then I fear it will not :-)

Over the coming weeks I will take v1.0 of w8trk live, and start learning all the problems and desires from my new users. I could call it a beta, but hey I think that's been overdone.

I need to find a decent way of marketing it, probably a not-too-successful way to allow me to get some feedback and fix the annoyances before annoying too many other people.

More news as it happens. I've decided to host this blog here, rather than on the main server, as I don't have time to hack on tobbe's eblog application. More's the pity.

Anyhow, I'll announce w8trk here when it goes live. Then you'll see what I've been working on, I'll get some link-love, and we'll all get to evaluate if my work has been worth it. Still, I've gotta say that 7+ years on I still love programming in Erlang.
